UNIQUE PIECE – Megalodon Shark Tooth Pendant with Handcrafted 925 Silver Root Cap
Dimensions: Length approx. 8.3 cm, width approx. 6.5 cm, weight approx. 125 grams
An extraordinary piece of jewelry featuring a genuine Megalodon tooth ( Otodus megalodon
) in perfect condition. The tooth is approximately 15 million years old (found in South Carolina, USA).
For this Megalodon tooth, I first sculpted a custom root cap from wax, then cast it in 925 silver. The root cap was then meticulously fitted, refined, polished by hand and then matted with fine glass pearls.
This special piece of jewelry required approximately 16 hours of handcrafting. A true one-of-a-kind creation for those who love sharks and the underwater world.
Pictured here on a 6 mm wide curb chain (optional).

Info: The teeth of the extinct shark Otodus megalodon
come in very different sizes. Small specimens measure about 4 to 7 cm, while average-sized teeth are around 10 to 15 cm long. Exceptionally large teeth can reach lengths of over 18 cm.
Based on these teeth, scientists can estimate the possible body size of Otodus megalodon. Estimates generally range from about 15 to 20 meters; in some cases, even larger lengths are discussed.
Such finds help us to better understand the lifestyle and ecological role of this ancient shark. Otodus megalodon
undoubtedly ranks among the most impressive predators to have ever inhabited the oceans.
Around 3.6 million years ago, Otodus megalodon went extinct. It is believed that a cooling of the oceans, changing food sources, and increasing competition from other marine predators contributed to the disappearance of this fascinating shark.
