What is it like at a depth of 923m in the Atlantic? That is what the MOLA 923M has been subjected to. In the autumn of 2008 the expedition sailed almost 75 kilometres into the open sea, off the Portuguese coast, to the south west of Porto. This is where the MOLA 923M was pressure-tested by being lowered into the depths. After successfully withstanding this performance test the time and date, along with the exact coordinates (LAT 40° 49,985' N LON 9° 34,998' W), were recorded. The coordinates of this experience are engraved on the automatic rotor of the mechanism. Each year just one hundred examples of the MOLA 923M are manufactured, they are then subjected to the same test and receive this special attestation.
